Holiday "Trimmings..."

The in-store specials listed below will continue though the holidays, but as you prepare here are a few tips to reduce waste in this time year usually known for its abundance... Compliments of the City of Columbia Climate Protection Action Campaign.


Plan your party menu around local and seasonally-available food.  Buying locally puts money back into the local economy and reduces your food's carbon footprint.

After the party, send leftovers home with your guests, or if possible donate them to a local food bank.

Consider LED (light-emitting diode) lights.  They use 90% less energy, emit virtually no heat and often last up to 20 years.

If you're doing a gift exchange, give homemade gifts or purchase something environmentally friendly.

Buy recycled-content holiday greetings, or better yet, send e-greetings to friends, family, customers and/or clients.
